  • S O L A R (447)
SOLAR is a fantasy Live-Action Role-Playing game (often referred to as a LARP). Within the constraints of the campaign environment, you create a character concept for a fantasy story and actually play the character. It is much like improvisational theater--you have a framework created by the props and supporting characters and must develop your part as you progress through the storyline. Your character's attitudes, ambitions, and history are yours to define.

  • American Dance Festival (402)
In July 1934, the small town of Bennington, Vermont, became the unexpected scene of another American revolution. It was a revolution that managed to change irreversibly the face of American art.
  • CCCC 2005 - Top 20 Pictures (499)
This is the third year I've photographed Choreo Collective, a local modern dance company, during a dress rehearsal
as they prepare for their big annual show. Once again, it was a lot of fun and I got to see some beautiful dance.

If you're in the Chapel Hill, NC, area, the concerts will be on March 19 and 20.
I'll also be projecting some photos there, so come on down and join the fun!

Check out www.choreocollective.org for more details. Otherwise, relax and enjoy my top 20 pix:
  • Choreo Collective (374)
Formed in 1997, Choreo Collective is a collective of local modern dancers and choreographers committed to exploring the creative process and increasing the presence of the performing arts in the community. The members of Choreo Collective also work together to stage performances throughout the Triangle area featuring work by individual members and guest artists, collaborative choreography, and structured improvisations.

  • University of Southern Mississippi Dance (124)
The mission of the dance program at The University of Southern Mississippi is to prepare students for both professional and scholastic careers in the arts. The program is based on the philosophy that dance is more than a physical act--it is a state of mind-an attitude in which body and mind is balanced. The diversity of ideas, visual images and formal techniques that have evolved through the historical development of dance are the ingredients that make up the whole of dance as a performing art. It is to these ingredients that the dance program addresses its courses and activities in order to guide the student toward a balanced understanding of the art.

Freelance Consultant

  • 10 Absolute "Nos!" for Freelancers (245)
My guy in Colorado sent me this link earlier today (26 nov 2007) and I realized that I'm in dire violation of a lot of these edicts. So I've read this article:

"When I first started freelancing as a college student, I was eager to do any website and would say "Yes" to anything, regardless of my skill set or the time involved. It was just nice to know that someone needed me for a skilled task. Unfortunately, I quickly found myself working all the time, eating Ramen noodles, and not getting anywhere in terms of paying off my wonderful college debt...."

Memorized it and am reading (and memorizing) the rest of the site (http://www.wakeuplater.com/) as well. Good stuff.
